The dreaded cost of insurance has been mentioned in another post. I currently pay £196 for the Mazda which includes European breakdown & recovery, protected NCB, legal cover and agreed value. Told a friend of mine about this company and he got his for £167 and his is a "go faster" version. Its with a company called Specialist Car Division and they tend to keep away from the standard every day type car, most cars over 10 years old can be classed as classic. I have found slightly cheaper offers via the web but by the time you then add back on recovery and legal cover etc it tends to be more expensive, anyway this company have always been helpful when required.

I can endorse the Administrator's comments. Not only was I given an introductory 3 years NCB for having a clean driving record ie no motoring convictions or accidents, but I found no comparative quote, with all the free add-on benefits, when trawling the various free 0800 insurance companies touting for my custom.

I have a newish car and it had a full no claims bonus on it. When I bought my little MX5 in October most insurance companies said I couldnt use my NCB on both cars.
However, Direct Line has allowed me to use it on both so now I am paying £400 a year for my Mazda 3 AND my MX - both are fully comp and one is even insured for business use!
They also said that after a year they will also give me a big no claims on my second car.
Its certainly worth a look.
