ixxi has asked me to post this plea for help.
"The alarm on my 1994 Porsche 911 (993 model) has started setting itself off when I'm driving. It does this at random intervals and is accompanied by the flashing of the hazard lights. It has only done this since the battery drained itself totally flat and I recharged it. The car starts OK so there is plenty of charge in the battery now, and all the electric bits and pieces seem to work. I can cancel the alarm by pressing the 'lock' button on the keyfob, and the alarm (so far) hasn't set itself off whilst the car has been stationary/locked/parked. The keyfob which locks/unlocks the car and, I assume, primes the alarm, is a Pirhana, but there is also a subsidiary alarm box in the engine compartment which apparently can be turned off with a key, which I have. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this, either temporarily or permanently, without having the present system taken out and a new alarm fitted? Thanks"

"Just to let you know that I had to give in and get a new alarm fitted. Didn't get any replies from the forum, but doubt that anyone would have been able to help. The specialist alarm shop said that the 'brain' was no longer reliable (the alarm's - not mine) and that since Pirhana had gone out of business some years ago it wasn't worth trying to find spares etc; so, reluctantly, I had to spend serious money to have an updated alarm fitted. Regards ixxi"
Sorry no-one was able to help you out ixxi.
