Greetings!
Is it just me, or does forum activity seem somewhat lacking and sporadic at best?
Anyway, I was wondering about ways to stimulate more activity, and I would just like to share an idea that may help improve the situation.
Internet Explorer v7 has a feature that allows you to set a selection of web sites (each on different tabs) as your "home page" - instead of just a single website.. I have set the forum as one of my "home page" tabs - which now keeps the forum at the front of my mind instead of lost in the cobwebs of my mind!!
I can at least now view the forum on a regular basis - and certainly intend to play a more active role in supporting it with comments and ideas.
May I commend this idea to everyone - with the hope that forum activity will pick up as a consequence?
On the other hand, you may think this idea will have no effect on the status quo! Either way, I would be interested to know what you think!
Regards to all
Chris

I have a site for convertible owners and I have come up with a number of ways to advertise it. One of the best ways I've found to increase traffic to your site is to visit others and advertise. I use several different sites and always have a link to the convertible club in my signature. You'd be surprised how that generates awareness. I also started a quiz. Check it out here you could create your own, it's free and is a great way to advertise the forum. I have had some contact cards made which I put under the wiper of any convertibles I see on my travels, including at shows. Visit other classic car sites and ask for reciprocal links to each others forum. We have a thread on our forum specifically for reciprocal links. You've been on my site as a link since last august. theconvertiblecarclub.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=187Most important I've found that keeping the site fresh is important. Make sure there are always plenty of new posts to keep things interesting. If there are no new posts for days at a time people will only check the forum occassionally.
